  1. Welcome students and briefly review microscopy lesson from the previous lesson.
  2. Investigation – Run UltraEverDry video as an engager activity for hydrophobic topic. Resources
  3. Investigation – Introduce new topic: what does super hydrophobic mean? What sorts of materials are hydrophobic? Use “Cup of water kit” to investigate: Molecular Shape; Molecular Polarity.
  4. Discussion – Explore the concept of polar and non-polar molecules and the interplay between surface tension and gravitational force.
  5. Investigation – Students investigate the YouTube - EnduroShield glass coating clip. Resources
